The Cybersecurity Guide explains cybersecurity for everyone in the United States: how to protect your phone, your computer, your home network and your privacy; what the latest breaches, hacks and AI scams mean for you; and which tools (VPNs, password managers, antivirus, encrypted storage, eSIMs) are worth your money, with every figure dated and sourced.

Who we write for

You do not work in security. Maybe you got a data breach letter or a strange text. Maybe you are choosing between two VPNs. You want to understand fast, then know what to do.

So every page gives you two things: an explanation you could repeat to a friend, and concrete steps, in order.

Who runs it

Anthony Russo, Editor. Anthony runs this guide and is responsible for every page. We use AI tools to research and draft our pages; every figure has a source and the date we checked it.

How we work

  • We explain to defend, never to attack. We tell you how an attack works so you can spot it and stop it. We never publish steps, tools or code for breaking into anything.
  • We start from primary sources. That means the company’s own page, an official breach notice, a government filing, a report or a study. We use a secondary source only when no primary source exists, and we label it.
  • Every figure has a source and a date. You can see where it comes from and when we checked it.
  • AI helps, and we say so. We use AI tools to research and draft. Each page is checked against its sources before it goes out.
  • We fix mistakes in the open. A factual error gets a dated note on the page, never a silent fix. See our corrections policy.
